Heart of Mary parishes offer Lenten Mission

The parishes of the Heart of Mary Cluster
invite you to join us for our Lenten MissionKnowing Christ, March 31-April 2.  Through Scripture, prayer and reflection on our life experiences we will seek to increase our knowledge and understanding of Christ in his ministry, death and resurrection and become more aware of how God is active in us, in others and in the world today.

Fr. Chris Manahan, S.J. will be our presenter.  Fr. Chris is in his fifth year as director of the Jesuit Retreat House on Lake Winnebago near Oshkosh, WI.  He entered the Jesuits in 1993 at the age of 37, following a 15 year career as a newspaper reporter and editor in Minnesota and Iowa, during which time he was a news editor at The Gazette in Cedar Rapids from 1982-1991.  He was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Cedar Rapids, attended St. Pius X Parish where he volunteered in its religious education program and joined St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish when it was established, helping in its RCIA program.

The mission will consist of three separate but related talks with one at each of our parishes as follows:

                ·         Sunday, March 31 – St. Mary, Urbana – 402 Ash Ave

                ·         Monday, April 1 – Sacred Heart, Walker – 516 Rowley St

                ·         Tuesday, April 2 – St. Mary, Vinton – 2200 2nd Ave

Each night a light meal will be served in the parish hall starting at 6:30 p.m. with the talks taking place in the church starting at 7:00 p.m.

Questions may be directed to Marcia Reilly at dbq203plc@dbqarch.org or by calling 319-472-3368.
