The Worship Office is a resource to parish leaders so that, “all the faithful should be led to that fully conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy . . . this full and active participation by all the people is the aim to be considered before all else for it is the primary and indispensable source from which the faithful are to derive the true Christian spirit . As the primary liturgist of the Archdiocese, Archbishop Jackels teaches that good liturgy and formation foster and nourish faith. The Archdiocesan Office of Worship assists pastoral leaders as they instill the “true Christian spirit” in all of the baptized through the liturgy.
Director, M. Peggy Lovrien, M.A. also assists leaders with the formation of liturgical ministries and RCIA teams through diocesan and regional education. She monitors recent resources and publications for use in pastoral ministry and publishes monthly communication to pastoral leaders on liturgy, music, and the initiation process.
The office is responsible for convening Catholic leaders to plan and implement diocesan liturgies such as the Rite of Election, the Chrism Mass, and Ordination liturgies for the Priesthood and Permanent Diaconate.Call upon the Office of Worship for resources and assistance with:
• Liturgy, Music, and RCIA • Liturgical law, guidelines, and rubrics • Planning liturgical services and enabling strong parish liturgy committees • Renovation and building churches and chapels
